We have had our first meeting today, where we used green screen to take some photos of ourselves in readiness for our new display board in the hall. We even made some Auras using Aurasma to link our display to this blog! How clever are we?!! Take a look at our photos below to who will be taking a lead in ICT this year :0) Come back soon to see what we get up to in our first eCadets challenge of the year!

Today, at the parents presentation we thoroughly enjoyed presenting to everyone how to keep safe on the internet. We all prepared what we needed to say, we created a PowerPoint to guide us through and we entertained and educated parents while they enjoyed cake and coffee. Here are some of the things we said: check the PEGI rating, don't open emails sent by people you don't know, don't go on inappropriate websites and most of all be aware of your children are using the internet for. The presentation went well and the Ecadets had a bite to eat afterwards. Come back soon to see what our next challenge will be!
TP Hi we are the e-Cadets we will tell you all about safer internet week.!
We did not long ago had a meeting with Miss Phillips and has helped us all the way through, She is one good teacher/helper. We planned a assembly for the e-Cadets to introduce our selves to the whole school it was fantastic and nerve racking but we lived. We talked all about e-safety we gave some tips, would you like to hear some? Well stay for more. 1.Never open messages sent by people we don't know. 2.We only use websites that we have had permission to go on by a adult. 3.We NEVER give strangers personal information or a kid password which we will tell you about after the top tips. 4.We tell a adult if we see anything we are not comfortable with. Here is a definition of a kid password If you become attached to stranger danger you should ask for a password that you should have discussed with your family/parents it could be something that is not what everyone else would guess easily but something that you will remember. We have a purple box in the back of our school hall that children that want to ask a question to a e-Cadet about can not talk to one in person. Have you ever heard of a CEOP button if not we will tell you. A CEOP button is a button that you will click if you think that the website is inappropriate. Most websites have a CEOP button if they don't have a CEOP button and it is inappropriate then show a teacher, adult or parent and click off the website. Digital Footprint Lesson. A digital footprint is a trail that you have left behind on every website, app any device you have it shows ...... shared photos Emails Websites discussions messengers Ps talkers/ online Ps users. Now we are going to present a new assembly to parents which will be even more nerve racking than the last one! Come back soon to find out how it went! We hope you have enjoy SID 2017. Stay safe! KR and LD (eCadets Year 5) So today we held our first eCadets meeting. We were pleased to see new faces and old and were over the moon with our Mini eCadets enthusiasm! We can't wait to get stuck into our first challenge; Copyright & Plagarism... Our eCadets have when offered to carry out some research on the topics this weekend! Now that is commitment!! Take a look at our team this year... And together we are.... The ECADETS!!! Keep an eye out for our next blog! 😃 Introducing the eCadets at Cwmclydach Primary School! If your on the net and your in a sweat... Do not fret... Call an ECadet!!! It was a busy week for us this week! We had raps to write and rules to think about. We also had our display board ready to showcase what we had achieved so there was lots of QR codes and Augumented reality to be getting on with. We teamed together and decided what jobs each of us were doing. We then came back together to discuss what we had decided on. It was a big challenge for us to get our jobs done but with great team work and commitment we managed to complete all of our tasks! Take a look at our rules and rap below and come back soon to see our rap video :0) I think it's safe to say that it has been an extremely productive week for us!! Da iawn eCadets!! Challenge one is complete!
We thoroughly enjoyed making our e-safety logo game during our first challenge. We decided to base it on the popular classic 'LOGO Game'... But, there was a twist! All logos were relating to popular websites and the clues helped us to learn how to keep safe when using them. We also decided to create 'Safety Stuff' questions. These were aimed at all ages across the school with differing questions and scores. The aim of the game was to gain spaces by answering the questions. We took our game to other classes where we encouraged and helped others to take part. Everybody enjoyed and we are spreading the E-Safety word! FANTASTIC!! :O) Well done everybody and we look forward to starting the next challenge! A very productive meeting today with the E-Cadets! Discussing how to present our promise to the school and how we will display our information. We even started discussing our next challenge of making an E-Safety game. Some very creative thoughts and ideas. Keep your eyes peeled for more information. We've also been in touch with Henry to ask a couple of questions about E-Safety... He's been a great help to us! It's also been great keeping in touch with other E-Cadets and chatting about what they're up to.
Lastly we've been discussing CEOP and it's importance on the web. We decided that it would be a good idea to inform the other children in our school of this button and our parents. Miss Lewis put it in the newsletter to make sure everybody is aware of its use. Stay tuned to see the next steps in our E-Cadet journey! Stay safe everybody!! :0) Today was our first meeting with Henry from the eCadets. We were so excited to meet him and so drew up a plan of what we were going to do when we did.
First we decided that we would use WebEx to carry out the online meeting, after we had arranged the meeting it was time to get down to business. We had so many questions! Where did we begin?! When Henry popped up on screen we all made sure that we were listening carefully as we knew he'd be giving us some important information. He took us through the website and helped us to blog, ask questions and join bubbles. It was great fun and very informative! We then got to ask our questions. Henry was very helpful and answered them all! Once we had discussed with Henry what our first challenge was it was time to say goodbye. We had great fun meeting Henry and we cant wait to speak to him again! But for now its full steam ahead on our first challenge... The Promise. Stay tuned to see what we come up with :0) Thanks for reading eCadets |
